Indira Gandhi Wild life Sanctuary and National Park is tourist place located in Valparai. Topslip is an another tourist place located near to this place.
Its a very huge reserve with mountains, forests, hills, falls, dams, animals and trees. Topslip seems to be focal point and no private places allocate at certain point.
We can buy a ticket and travel into the forest using forest department vehicles. They are many wild life animals we can see like Sambar deer, Malabar giant squirrel, Peacocks, langurs etc..,

Aliyar Dam is located about 25 km from Pollachi in Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu at the foot of Valparai, in the Anamalai Range of the Western Ghats.

Parambikulam Tiger Reserve is a well protected ecological portion in the Nelliampathy – Anamalai landscape of the Southern Western Ghats in India.

Valparai Tourist Places: Sholayar Dam
Sholayar Dam situated 20 km from Valparai. A part of the hydroelectric project of Tamil Nadu, special permission require to visit the dam.
The Solaiyar dam a vital reservoir under the Parambikulam Aliyar Project and has a water storage capacity of 160 ft. The reservoir’s overflowing waters are let into the Parambikulam Reservoir through the saddle dam.
It is constructed by a team who was working under K Palanisamy, the most popular engineer in that area. Sholayar Dam is built in ss, Sholayar Flanking in 1964 and Sholayar Saddle Dam in 1965.
The reservoir has an area of 8.705 Sq Km and the length of the dam is 430.60 m. The Sholayar Dam has a height of 66 m and 430 m width, Sholayar Flanking has a height of 28 m and 19 m width and Sholayar Saddle has a height of 259 m and 109 m width.

Nirar Dam is located 15 km from Valparai. The dam constructe as part of the hydroelectric power project that powers many an industry and home in the plains.
It also plays an important role in terms of irrigation and supplies water to places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Nirar Dam, along with Sholayar Dam and Aliyar Dam are the three most important dams that are located in and around Valparai. It was very decent Place in Dense Forest.
Valparai Tourist Places: Manampalli Forest
Manampalli Forest (Manomboli) it’s one of range in Anaimalai Tiger Reserve, located about 20 km from Valparai known for its thick Shola forests, fast flowing rivers and scenic beauty.
Manampalli Forest known for its thick shoal forest and the rich fauna being geographically bordered to Top slip and Parambikulam. This place is actually between Sholayar and Valparai but 8 km inside the forest.
This place has some human presence (very less) in the form of Sholayar Power House where some people work and thereby lives in the government provided accommodation facility. But the only public transportation available is the bus which goes to Valparai in the morning and returns by evening.
Guest house maintain by Tamil Nadu Forest department and not part of the power house project. Not something which we can locate on Google Maps. It shows Manamboli forest on the wrong direction near Idamalayar.
Manampalli Forest is 9 km from main road while Sholayar is 8 km and Valparai is 15 km from the check-post.
